Climate­Launch­pad

Inspiring, skilled, interesting, amazing, brilliant, great, fun – this is how we’d describe our former participants. It has been such a joy and privilege to get to know so many wonderful entrepreneurs and people since joining ClimateLaunchpad back in 2015. Not only have we had a lot of fun in the past eight years – we’ve also been able to celebrate some pretty big successes. Read all about our Swiss participants’ achievements as well as their experiences below.

CLP 2022

Swiss participant Mojtaba Rezaei receives 3rd prize at the Global Grand Final 2022 for the startup project 2D Membranes

2022 offered once more a chance to accompany 10 young and brilliant Swiss teams with innovative green business ideas into the competition and support them throughout their 6-months CLP journey.

Last year 2D Membranes, a Swiss startup from Lausanne offering a revolutionary carbon capture solution,  won 3rd place at the ClimateLaunchpas Grand Final 2022 among 1990 ideas sent in from all around the world.

We congratulate the whole team for their successful CLP journey! With its win, the young startup led by EPFL PhD students Mojtaba Rezaei and Karl Khalil, joins an impressive list of Swiss business projects who have made it into the top ranks at the world’s largest cleantech idea competition.

CLP 2021

Participants, National Leads and Jury Members during the virtual National Final 2021
In 2021, a total of 2,136 clean-tech startups from 55 countries from all over the world applied for ClimateLaunchpad. Swiss startup Qaptis was one of them. Not only were they able to convince the national jury with their business idea, but also the international one. 
 
At the Global Grand Final in October 2021, Qaptis won 3rd place! 
 
Once again: Huge congratulations to the co-founders Théodore Caby, Masoud Talebi Amiri and Yves Loerincik! 

CLP 2020

The ten participants of the 2020 Boot Camp together with the two National Leads and the ClimateLaunchpad Trainer.

In 2020, ClimateLaunchpad broke yet another set of its own records with over 3,000 applicants from 56 countries participating in the competition. Among fierce competition in the European Regional Finals,  Swiss Startup ShadeMe advanced to the Global Grand Finals.

The Swiss National Finals featured the following winners:

3rd place

CLP 2019

Out of a record number of 2,601 applications from 53 countries from all over the world, Swiss startup Enerdrape (who won first place at the National Final in Basel this year) achieved 3rd place at the Global Grand Final in Amsterdam in November 2019. 

CONGRATULATIONS to co-founder Margaux Peltier!

And also congrats again to Ponera: The Swiss startup was one of 130 startups who pitchted their green business ideas to the jury at the Grand Final. Ponera had won 2nd place at the Swiss National Final 2019.

CLP 2018

The ClimateLaunchpad 2018 winners at the Grand Final in Edinburgh, Scotland

Out of a record number of 1,500 applications from 44 countries,
all three startups from Switzerland were among the winners at the ClimateLaunchpad Grand Final 2018!

CLP 2017

Over 1,000 startups from 35 countries participated in the competition in 2017 and out of 105 finalists, the Swiss startup MeduSoil won 2nd place at the Grand Final in Cyprus!

At the National Final 2017, the following startups won:

1st Place: MeduSoil – Dimitrios Terzis and Dr. Melis Sütman

2nd Place: NeoCarbons – Jean-Louis Roux Dit Buission and Thomas Gees

3rd Place: Innovopolis Waste Solutions – Alexandros and Petros Timotheou
