Meet the innovators behind this year’s Swiss ClimateLaunchpad solutions

With the ClimateLaunchpad Switzerland 2026 National Final just around the corner, we’re taking a closer look at this year’s most promising climate solutions. From innovative materials and circular economy solutions to renewable energy and sustainable technologies, our 10 finalists are tackling a diverse range of climate challenges. Get to know the entrepreneurs behind the ideas, their motivation, and the solutions they are bringing to the ClimateLaunchpad stage.

EcoForentis – Turn promises into proof

EcoForentis helps companies make sustainable packaging claims evidence ready. The startup supports better decisions-making and reduces risks along the path to circular packaging by verifying claims such as “recyclable,” “recycled,” or “PFAS-free.”

Many of these claims are currently used without sufficient proof, creating a high risk of greenwashing. Companies may unintentionally communicate misleading information, which can result in reputational damage, regulatory challenges, and loss of trust. At the same time, unsubstantiated claims contribute to poor material choices, inefficient recycling, and continued reliance on virgin resources, slowing down the transition to a circular economy.

EcoForentis addresses this gap with a structured approach built around its “Evidence Gap Matrix.” This method reviews supplier documentation, identifies material risks, and defines necessary testing requirements needed to substantiate sustainability claims. Based on these insights, the startup offers services such as Claim Readiness Scans, comprehensive Evidence Packs, laboratory coordination, training workshops, and ongoing monitoring. This enables companies to systematically close evidence gaps and communicate sustainability claims with confidence.

Octodurus Materials – Making construction kinder to the planet

Octodurus Materials develops carbon-negative concrete made from agricultural waste such as cow manure, woodash and hemp fibers. It achieves up to 80% lower CO₂ emissions than traditional cement by eliminating high-temperature kilns and using circular geopolymer chemistry (a cement-like binding process that uses mineral materials instead of traditional clinker).

The startup’s name reflects both its commitment to its Swiss origins and the eight key challenges within the construction industry that its product is designed to address: carbon emissions, kiln energy, sand scarcity, industrial and agricultural waste, water intensity, growing demand, infrastructure durability, and demolition dead end.

Octodurus Materials addresses these challenges by transforming problematic waste streams into a high-performance construction material with a significantly lower climate footprint than conventional cement. Its approach combines carbon-negative concrete with self-healing properties. Here bacteria seal cracks, helping extend the lifetime of the material, while the product can be used as a 5 – 8% admixture in existing concrete plants. This makes it easier to integrate into current production processes and supports a more circular construction system.

Their vision is to make construction kinder to the planet by developing sustainable building materials that reduce environmental impact without compromising performance.

 

 

WindLens – Making renewable energy risk-free

WindLens helps renewable energy producers manage production risk in volatile electricity markets. Its AI model combines weather, asset, and market data, supporting better bidding decisions, reducing imbalance penalties, and increasing revenue by up to 10%.

The problem WindLens addresses becomes more acute as the share of renewable energy continues to grow. Electricity production is increasingly weather-dependent and more difficult to balance in real time. When actual generation deviates from forecasts, imbalance penalties can quickly reduce revenue for renewable energy producers and make operations less predictable.

As the founders explain: “We’re making renewable energy risk-free. Today, power markets are more volatile than crypto, creating huge risk for the renewable industry and increasing costs. With our solution, we provide certainty to wind and solar farm owners”

The startup offers B2B software subscriptions for renewable energy producers, traders, and energy software providers, with pricing based on the amount of renewable capacity managed. Customers can choose between API, dashboard, and AI assistant solutions.
