Meet the innovators behind this year’s Swiss ClimateLaunchpad solutions
FLOCCUS – Simple and integrated CO2 capture and sequestration to produce carbon-negative hydrogen and construction materials

FLOCCUS produces carbon-negative construction materials and green hydrogen through an innovative process that valorizes organic waste compounds. The startup aims to reduce the cost, environmental impact, and energy demand of future construction materials and hydrogen production.

The problem they address is twofold: carbon capture and storage for construction materials is expensive because the value chain is long and inefficient, while producing green hydrogen through water electrolysis remains energy-intensive. At the same time, large amounts of industrial organic waste remain underused, even though they could become a valuable resource.
FLOCCUS addresses these challenges with a novel technology that valorizes organic waste compounds, produces green hydrogen while consuming 80% less energy than commercial systems, and captures and sequesters CO₂ with an efficiency of more than 99%—without any external system or energy input.
Founders Roberto Valenza and Maxime Albisetti are motivated by the opportunity to help decarbonize the construction and energy sectors through their innovative technology. Their experience at the ClimateLaunchpad Boot Camp showed them how visionary people can make an impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Salvage Studio – Design follows material
Salvage Studio – first-prize winner at the Techstars Startup Weekend in Basel – manufactures and sells locally produced premium interior objects with documented proof of circularity.
“We believe in the next chapter of materials.”

The design industry creates everything from scratch, while thousands of tonnes of purpose-built exhibition material are discarded every year. Since these materials are not waste by nature, but waste by neglect, Salvage Studio aims to turn the system around. The startup gives these materials a pathway to reuse by collecting post-exhibition material at low or no cost and designing around what already exists.
Salvage Studio works with local craftspeople and builds relationships with institutions. Its work is structured around three streams: manufacturing and selling limited-edition interior objects priced between CHF 50 and CHF 5,000; institutional removal partnerships; and community workshops with Offcut Basel. The workshops help build brand awareness and strategic visibility ahead of each collection launch.
Every object comes with a Digital Product Passport, while dismantling becomes the beginning of design.
klaro Solutions GmbH – Save Resources. Build a Zero-Waste Future.

Klaro is a SaaS platform that digitalizes industrial waste management and turns waste into a circular resource. It centralizes waste data across company sites, automates invoice verification, and provides real-time dashboards for costs, recycling rates, and CO₂ emissions.

Industrial waste management is often fragmented, opaque, and difficult to measure, causing companies to miss recycling opportunities, face compliance risks, and generate unnecessary CO₂ emissions.
Klaro addresses these challenges with a single system for waste data, procurement, verification, reporting, and material exchange. The platform compares invoices with orders and delivery notes, detects discrepancies, and tracks performance across locations, materials, and time periods. An integrated marketplace lets companies exchange, resell, and source reusable materials and by-products, extending the lifecycle of materials beyond traditional recycling. Together, these features simplify waste management, preserve valuable materials within the circular economy, and enable better decision-making across the organization.
For co-founders Pearl Oti-Amoako and Göknur Bektas, Klaro is about more than building a product: “We’re building a promise: to make waste management simple, transparent, and accessible.”
