ResolV – Shared circular solvent recovery for the chemical sector

ResolV helps industrial companies reduce hazardous solvent disposal costs by identifying and routing recoverable solvent streams through a shared recovery hub. Its digital platform tracks streams, recovery, quality, and savings end to end, making solvent reuse more transparent and scalable.

The problem ResolV addresses is common in pharma and chemicals. Valuable solvents are often stored and then incinerated, even though they could be recovered and reused. That creates unnecessary disposal costs, increases demand for virgin solvents, and causes avoidable emissions.

ResolV combines a shared solvent recovery model with digital tracking. Companies separate recurring solvent streams, a central hub recovers selected ones, and the platform records routing, quality, volumes, and savings throughout the process. This allows companies to recover value from waste streams that would otherwise be lost.

As founder Mayukh Das puts it, the ambition goes beyond solving a technical issue: “We want this to become a real contribution to a future where innovation protects the planet instead of costing it.”

AeraGrow – Do you know where your coffee grounds go?

AeraGrow is a Lucerne-based circular bio-economy startup that transforms spent coffee grounds from Swiss cafés into Platinum Vermisoil, a blend of biochar and vermicompost.
In doing so, it closes the loop between urban consumption and soil regeneration, turning a local waste stream into a climate-positive soil product.

This solution responds to two pressing challenges: spent coffee grounds that end up in landfills release methane, a greenhouse gas far more potent than CO₂, while degraded urban soils lose their ability to store carbon and water — worsening climate impacts and weakening local ecosystems.

Biochar is a carbon-rich material made from organic waste that helps store carbon in the soil, while vermicompost is nutrient-rich compost produced with the help of worms. Combined into Platinum Vermisoil, they lock carbon in soil for more than 1,000 years while rebuilding fertility and improving soil health — turning waste into a resource that supports regenerative urban agriculture.

Co-Founders Jerry-More Magohomera and Daniel Jancur are sure: “As a barista-led initiative, we’re proof that the people closest to the waste stream are often best placed to redesign it.” Leveraging firsthand knowledge of coffee consumption and waste, the team designs a system that captures spent grounds before they become a liability and converts them into a high-value soil amendment.

UNAREV – 4.5 Trillion Butts Are Thrown Away Every Year!

Cigarette butts are sometimes said to be “too small to matter,” but they are the #1 most littered item on the planet, with each one capable of contaminating up to 1,000 liters of water. Made of plastic and containing more than 7,000 chemicals, they contaminate soil and water, drive major cleanup costs for cities, and harm marine ecosystems. Despite the scale of the issue, no scalable solution exists yet. UNAREV aims to turn the world’s most ignored pollutant into value and change how humanity thinks about waste forever.

The startup deploys IoT-enabled smart collectors that capture and recycle cigarette butts into reusable materials. With a gamified app and blockchain-verified ESG credits linked to sustainability-linked loans, UNAREV turns urban pollution into circular-economy value for cities.

The smart collectors automatically sort and compact cigarette butts directly in urban areas. Users are rewarded through the app for each deposit, while collected filters are sent to recycling partners (IMEKO/Celion®) and transformed into acoustic panels, accessories, and urban furniture. UNAREV’s primary customers are corporations and building managers seeking ESG compliance, cleaner premises, and increased brand visibility.

As the winner of the EU Business School x Startup Studio 2026, UNAREV is seeking pilot partnerships and pre-seed funding to deploy its first stations in Geneva.
