How I benefit as a student

Work experience

As a student, I give advice and support based on my theoretical knowledge with regard to practical problems to one or more start-ups. That way, I already get to gain experience as a consultant during my studies.

When supporting start-ups, I learn about the challenges that young entrepreneurs who want to establish themselves in the market face. With this know-how, I also realise my own business idea.

The student becomes part of the Startup Academy community and builds up and expands his or her professional network. At meetings and events, you get to know many like-minded people.

Employment reference

After my internship, I receive a work certificate for my application file. Various universities also award ECTS points for the internship that can be credited to your studies.

Admission: Admission interview

The placement ideally takes place after the first semester and can last several semesters. The application is submitted to the head of the respective location, who will assess the person's professional requirements, personal suitability and motivation.

Month 1: Registration with the university

The crediting of the part-time internship must be registered with and approved by your own university before the internship begins. Different requirements apply with regard to being awared 3 or 6 ECTS credits at the end of the programme.

Months 2-6: Assignment as a student

During their placement, the student keeps a journal of the placement hours and has them confirmed every 40 hours. If the university requires a separate document after completion of the internship, confirmation is also provided by the site management.

Exit: Completion and confirmation of work

Various universities require an internship report based on their own templates. Special attention is paid to ensure that the content of the internship is related to studies. Upon request, the Startup Academy issues a confirmation of employment, which can later be enclosed with applications.
